This was the perfect opportunity for us to stretch some muscles and create the entire virtual set where this funny and almost cartoon-like film, where the Persia Got Talent judges can go crazy while picking the talents to eliminate and ones to survive.

Wak Wak: Making the storm

For a TV Series, this scene is a massive simulation, scaling up to half a billion particles at one point.

We had to come up with a completely new solution to force the ship to be affected and move according to the waves, and at the same time affect the waves themselves.

24 Carats Cliff Fall

24 Carats is a rewarded TV series, and this short scene marks a major turning point in the story of the protagonist (Star Abed Fahed), the visual had to be as much realistic as it is shocking and life changing.

We used several live footage of the waves hitting the rocks to build the shore (shot with Arri Alexa), the extended sea and the rocky cliff and plants are all 3D, we also had to build a rough 3D version of the actor to apply a simulated motion to his body in the wide side shot.

Burning The Hara

Bab-Al-Hara is a highly regarded TV series produced by MBC, watched and loved by millions of fans, this series of shots are part of a scene where the Hara (Damascene neighborhood) is suppose to be burning, however; the set was made of highly inflammable wood and Styrofoam, therefore using fire on set was not possible.

We built 1:1 black replicas of all the elements to be burned, and did a night session to shoot the fire elements separately, we then tracked the clean shots with the extras running around to place the fire in 3D space.

Mariam All VFX shots

Directed by Basil Alkhatib, the feature film "Mariam" is our first attempt to handle the entire post production of a full feature film, from editing, grading, visual effects, sound design to the final theatrical release.

This is a breakdown of various visual effects scenes, including a scene where the film heroine is caught on fire, the destruction of a church, a CGI horse jumping from a muddy hole and more.

The Dummies: Making of

The film was shot using Red One digital cinema, mounted on motion controlled rig (Milo) to capture 2 different takes for every shot, one with the actors in green suits and one without (Clean background), three additional HDV cameras were also used to shoot every action from 3 different angles, providing enough data to track/capture the performance and copy it to the CG characters.

For some harder shots we used endorphin (AI human behavior simulation system) to mix the live performance with more violent behavior.

Lighting the 3D scenes was done by capturing HDR maps for every shot, ensuring perfect the blend of the CG characters into the live scenes, finally; Nuke and After effects were used for compositing and finishing.

Royal Jordanian: Making of

2D brushing plugins produce nice result for still images, but fail to give anything appealing with video, that is why we had to invent the entire workflow.

We were lucky to have access to a real airbus A340 and were allowed to dismantle some seats that gave us the opportunity to shoot enough clean and detailed texture photos to build the inside of the plain entirely in 3D.

We then took the seats to a green screen set, where we could control the lighting, performance, and camera movement freely and precisely.
